1 inch vs 1 and 1/4 inch

Often times people ask me if there is really a difference in curling iron sizes, even if you are only going up a 1/4 of an inch. There is a BIG difference in the way your hair looks after it is curled with just a 1/4 inch difference in curling irons. I am going to show you what the curls look like from a 1 inch and a 1 and a 1/4 inch curling iron because those are my two favourite sizes.

First I always straighten my ends before I curl because I like the look of softer curls.

Next I spray my hair with Bumble and Bumble “Does it all” hairspray, which is a working spray so you can curl over it very easily without it getting crunchy. (Once I have curled it all I spray it again with Spray de Mode for more hold)

I start at the top of my hair strand and work my way down, and I always leave about an inch out of the bottom to keep it looking messier.

Lip Colors

I decided to do a post on a few of my favourite MAC lip colours. When I say a few, I mean I really had to narrow it down. I have over 30 lipsticks from MAC and I narrowed it down to my 5 most worn colours.

“Creme de Nude”

This is my all time favourite nude lipstick. It has a shine to it so you don’t need to apply a gloss, and doesn’t fully wash out your lips!

If nude lipstick isn’t your thing, but you like a light pale pink Angel is the one to go for!

“MAC Red”

The name of the lipstick pretty much sums it up. If you are looking for a true red lip colour, MAC red is beautiful.

Dark plum purple is usually my colour of choice when going out. It can pull a whole look together just by putting on a lipstick.

This one is similar to Rebel but it is a little bit darker and little less purple. I couldn’t decide between the two because I love them both so much!

Swept // Boutique Bridal Show

At the beginning of the summer I had the privilege of doing hair and makeup for a photo shoot for my friend Erin Walker. She is a wedding photographer in Edmonton that had a dream to put together a bridal show with all of the best florist, planners, hairstylists, and designers. You can see more photos and read about it here. We did these photos so she could use them for all of her advertising on the Swept website and Facebook page.
